John Pizzarelli

Jazz guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli is recognized as one of the major contemporary interpreters of American popular song.
He has collaborated with musicians such as Rosemary Clooney, Benny Goodman, Natalie Cole, and Les Paul. Hailed by the Boston Globe for "reinvigorating the Great American Songbook and re-popularizing jazz," Pizzarelli has often been compared to iconic crooners like Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole while infusing his performances with a modern sensibility and timelessness that is uniquely his own. Pizzarelli has expanded his playbook to include music of Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Tom Waits, Antônio Carlos Jobim, and The Beatles.

In addition to being a bandleader and solo performer, John has been a special guest on recordings for major pop names such as James Taylor, Natalie Cole, Kristin Chenoweth, Tom Wopat, as well as leading jazz artists such as Rosemary Clooney, Ruby Braff, Johnny Frigo, Buddy DeFranco, Harry Allen and, of course, Bucky Pizzarelli. He was featured opposite Donna Summer, Jon Secada and Roberta Flack on the GRAMMY Award-winning CD, Songs from the Neighborhood: The Music of Mr. Rogers in 2005. John has performed on the country’s most popular national television shows such as The Tonight ShowConan, PBS Great Performances and many more.

Mike Karn

Saxophonist and bassist Michael Karn has been a major player in the jazz scene for more than 20 years, working with many of the music world’s most creative artists.

He joined the Ray Charles Orchestra in 1988 touring the United States, Europe, and Japan at such venues as the Blue Note, The Hollywood Bowl, Lincoln Center, and Wolf Trap.

After touring and recording extensively with organ powerhouse Charles Earland, Michael joined the big band of Harry Connick Jr. appearing at Newport Jazz Festival, Kennedy Center, and Grand Ole Opry, as well as making numerous television appearances in the U.S. and England, several of them as a featured soloist. In the recording studio, he worked with Connick on four of Harry’s CDs.

In addition to his sideman work, Michael is a bandleader and composer in his own right; his groups have been featured at clubs, festivals and universities throughout the country.
